Back up a bot to GitHub
Connect GitHub, create a private source backup, or connect a suitable existing repository.
Connect your GitHub account
The project’s GitHub or backup controls let you authorize GitHub for source backups. Connect the intended account and review the authorization screen. Backing up source is a separate action from publishing your bot, and it is not required just to describe a build in chat.
- Open the project’s GitHub backup area and select Connect GitHub.
- Complete the authorization and return to the project.
- Choose Create private backup for a new private repository, or use Connect an existing repository.
- For an existing repository, supply one that is empty and that your account can push to.
- Check the connected repository and the last synchronization result. Use Sync now when another eligible version is ready.
Know what the backup contains
Backups upload the saved project source available when synchronization runs. A successful backup does not mean that source passed build or security checks. Check the saved reference and synchronization time, then inspect the repository if relying on it outside CookMyBots. Newer workspace changes may not be included yet.
A GitHub source backup is not a copy of wallet funds, customer conversations, a live platform account, or the hosting service. Keep credentials in connection settings and review files before distributing a repository. Repository visibility determines who can see the code on GitHub.
If synchronization fails, check the account, repository permissions, and empty-repository requirement. External GitHub edits do not automatically update and publish the bot. Use the project workflow and verify its saved version before deployment.
